Abstract

Soient $G_{1}$ et $G_{2}$ deux groupes abéliens localement compacts de dual $Γ_{1}$ et $Γ_{2}$ . Soit $h : Γ_{1} \to Γ_{2}$ un homomorphisme continu d’image dense de $Γ_{1}$ dans $Γ_{2}$ . Soit $1 \leq p \leq \infty$ ; on prouve un théorème d’approximation des multiplicateurs de $F L^{p} (G_{2})$ et on utilise ce résultat pour démontrer le suivant : soit $m : Γ_{2} \to C$ une fonction continue ; $m$ est un multiplicateur de $F L^{p} (G_{2})$ si, et seulement si, $m \circ h$ est un multiplicateur de $F L^{p} (G_{1})$ .

Let $G_{1}$ and $G_{2}$ be two abelian locally compact groups whose duals are $Γ_{1}$ and $Γ_{2}$ ; let $h : Γ_{1} \to Γ_{2}$ be a continuous homomorphism with dense range and let $p ν$ be a real number $1 \leq p \leq \infty$ . In this paper we prove an approximation theorem for $F L^{p} (G_{2})$ Fourier multipliers and we use the result so obtained to prove the following : let $m : Γ_{2} \to C$ be a continuous function then $m$ is $F L^{p} (G_{2})$ Fourier multiplier if and only if $m \circ h$ is $F L^{p} (G_{1})$ Fourier multiplier.
